The double turn is one of the most difficult things for a wrestling promotion to pull off, let alone to pull off well. You can count the number of effective double turns on your fingers, but one of the most memorable of recent years was the switcheroo by Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2013.

Del Rio beat the previously-concussed Ziggler at Payback for the title, and the two went at it once again at Money in the Bank a month later. Ziggler and Del Rio had a hot programme at the time, and the two were as good as anyone in the company when motivated.

Their bout at Money in the Bank was immensely intense, full of near falls and a hot crowd. The end came when AJ Lee interfered on behalf of her then-beau Ziggler, and the story of Ziggles moved in the break-up direction as opposed to more matches with Del Rio.

Still, this was a cracker.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
