The July 22nd, 2013 episode of Monday Night Raw belonged to Daniel Bryan. The bearded wonder was booked in a gauntlet match by that nefarious Brad Maddox and had to face off agaisnt Jack Swagger, Cesaro and Ryback in succession.

D-Bry went 3-0 on the night but it wasn't so much the result as the performance which was impressive. Bryan essentially owned the last hour of Raw and it was the middle match with the Swiss Superman that truly rocked the house.

Now these two men had been having great matches together for years and, as two of the best wrestlers on the planet, you wouldn't exactly expect them to stink the joint out. However, this was a gauntlet match where the opponents weren't initially known and, on top of that, it was in the main event of Raw.

Even more surprising was the fact that WWE gave the two mat masters almost twenty minutes to entice the audience and the Austin, Texas crowd were with them all the way. They really seemed to really appreciate the blend of strikes, submissions and aerial moves.

It also had a cute finish, as Bryan got the duke after reversing the Swiss Death pop-up uppercut with a nifty small package in mid-air. It was clear, based on their performances here, that both men deserved to be mixing it up in the main event scene.
