10 Greatest Comebacks In UFC History

6. Frank Mir Vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - UFC 140

Although it's a shame that we didn't get to see Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira compete against each other when they were in their prime, the two fights that we saw from them in the UFC were still stellar encounters. Mir won their first fight, becoming the first person to ever finish the exceptionally tough and durable Nogueira during his career, so the Brazilian was itching for revenge.

With the fight taking place just before the holidays, Nogueira must've believed that Christmas came early as he rocked Mir with strikes within minutes of the first round. However, despite Mir being quite clearly out on his feet, Nogueira opted to go for a submission instead of continuing to punch him in the head. It turned out to be a major mistake for the grappling legend.

Mir managed to escape Nogueira's guillotine choke attempt by reversing position and getting on top. From there, he worked for a kimura lock, which the former Pride heavyweight champion tried desperately to escape from. However, Mir refused to let go, eventually breaking Nogueira's right humerus in the process.
