10 Greatest Comebacks In UFC History

4. Darren Elkins Vs. Mirsad Bektic - UFC 209

Any hardcore MMA fans know that Mirsad Bektic was considered by many as the heir apparent for the UFC's featherweight division. Leading up to his promotional debut, the Bosnian was crushing opponents on the regional scene and the violence continued up until the fifth fight of his UFC career.

His fight against tough veteran, Darren Elkins, at UFC 209 felt like the promotion were giving Bektic an opportunity to showcase his well-rounded skills and continue to prove that he was a legitimate threat in the weight class. For the vast majority of their fight, that's exactly what he did.

Whether the fight was on the feet or on the ground, Bektic dominated everywhere, pulverizing his opponent with a seemingly never-ending salvo of ground and pound. Yet, even though it seemed detrimental to his health, Elkins refused to go away.

Despite losing the first and second round, Elkins somehow managed to come back into the fight in the third and final stanza. A combination of knees, punches and final devastating head kick slumped Bektic and sent him face-first towards the canvas, sending those in attendance and watching into a frenzy.
