10 Greatest Debut Years In WWE History

9. Bray Wyatt

Poor old Windham Rotunda has experienced so much misfortune that it can be hard to recall any of his good times in WWE. When he made his main roster debut (in the Bray Wyatt guise - let’s forget Husky Harris), though, he was a breath of fresh air, and for a while received genuine star treatment.

Bray had honed his act on NXT, and the creepy cult leader gimmick was fully formed by May 2013. His look, music, manner of speaking - all of it was totally different, and brilliantly performed. He was thrown straight in at the deep end, picking up wins over established (if somewhat adrift) stars like Kane and Kofi Kingston.

For a while, things only got better. The Wyatt Family targeted CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and The Shield, becoming one of the most over acts in the company. Their brightest moment came in their trios match with The Shield at Elimination Chamber 2014, an all-time classic.

Wyatt’s feud with John Cena should have been the final piece of the puzzle. A quality built lead to a WrestleMania showdown, where unfortunately, if unsurprisingly, Cena overcame adversity, rose above whatever weird psychological stuff Wyatt was peddling, and effectively cut him off at the knees. Sadly, he never quite recovered, though if the rumours are to be believed, there could yet be another twist in this spooky tale.
