10 Greatest Diving Elbow Drops Of All Time

6. Dean Ambrose

Ambrose may not yet have achieved the tangible success that CM Punk did, but in his two-and-a-half years with the company he’s already provided us with more death-defying elbow drops than the Straightedge Superstar ever did.

An all-round smoother version, we’ve seen Ambrose take his flying elbow drop to the extreme on multiple occasions. He frequently hits the move to his opponents through tables—both inside the ring and out—while at TLC 2014 he landed no less than three elbows on Bray Wyatt, all of which came off of ladders and through tables.

But there’s more to Ambrose’s flying elbow drop than mere hardcore pageantry. Increasing, we’ve seen the Lunatic Fringe apply the move to a standing opponent, something that is rarely done in the WWE. Such originality and versatility makes Ambrose’s elbow perhaps the best on the roster today.

And with a number of years left in the tank, if he continues to use the move as he has done so far, he could go down as one of the absolute best elbow droppers ever.
