10 Greatest Family Feuds In Wrestling History

1. Bret Hart Vs Owen Hart

Slowburn storytelling done right, the less savvy wrestling fan of the mid-’90s could easily believe that the antipathy between Bret and Owen Hart was legitimate. The basis for the feud was completely believable - a man of Owen’s talents could easily find himself frustrated to be languishing in the midcard while big brother Bret got all the attention, all the breaks.

In reality, the brothers were close, and dedicated only to putting on the best matches possible, which they did with style. Their opening bout at WrestleMania X remains one of the greatest curtain jerkers of all time, and their SummerSlam cage match later that year is better still.

In an era still clinging onto gimmicks like Adam Bomb and the fake Undertaker, Hart vs Hart stood out all the more. The in-ring work was obviously fantastic, but the angle spoke to so many viewers. Nothing in it was forced or fake, and nothing was rushed, either. Tensions built, personalities gradually shifted, and the feud was eventually blown off after some incredible matches.

It helps that the men involved are two of the best ever, but from top to bottom, no one put a foot wrong here.
