2. Roman Reigns Vs Jey Uso

If anyone was wondering if the much-mooted Roman Reigns heel turn would actually be a good idea, you’ve got your answer now. The Big Dog’s increasingly vicious feud with cousin Jey Uso has been a highlight of modern WWE, and of Reigns’ career in general.

The organic nature of the story has been so refreshing. Following Reigns’ return and capture of the Universal Championship, Jey Uso, a singles performer while brother Jimmy Uso is on the shelf, won a shot at the belt. While Reigns was initially supportive of his cousin, he quickly became patronising, urging Jey to lie down and take the payday.

The feud has spiralled convincingly from there, with Jey eager to prove he’s on Roman’s level, and Roman desperate to be acknowledged as the undisputed head of the famous Anoaʻi family.

There have been silly moments - Reigns banishing Jey’s fictional grandkids from the family, the insistent “tribal chief” nomenclature - but all parties concerned have sold it beautifully. The matches have been superb, the angle even better; it has done wonders for everyone involved.
