10 Greatest Female Wrestling Managers Ever

1. Sensational Sherri

Sensational Sherri is the greatest female manager in WWE history because of the legitimacy she lent an iconic star and the effect she had in some of the most beloved stars of all-time. In 1989, she aligned with Randy Savage and instantly brought some very real heat to the "Macho Man" character. He was so loved by such a huge portion of the audience, even as a heel, that it became difficult to turn the audience against him. Sherri helped expedite the process. As "Queen" Sherri to his "Macho King," the duo wreaked havoc at the top of the WWE card. The most over villains on the roster, they reigned over the company for the better part of two years until Savage lost a Retirement Match at WrestleMania VII and Sherri kicked him to the curb. Quite literally, too. From there she formed a brief alliance with Ted DiBiase but it was her pairing with a young Shawn Michaels that earned her the top spot on this list. Very rarely can a manager single-handedly add to the to elevation of a young star. In 1992, Sherri became manager for "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and immediately enhanced fan perception of him. She had been involved with top, main event talent for so long that fans immediately believed in ol' HBK as a star. Sherri lent credibility to Michaels in a way that no booking or big match victory ever could have. That she was so enamored with him and his looks only helped put the character over. By the time Michaels split from her, he was well on his way to establishing himself as one of the faces of WWE's new generation but without Sherri there to guide him through the first year of his singles run, to help him navigate the political landmines and get heat from the audience.
