10 Greatest Hits Of WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett

2. Double-J-Double M-A

Jeff Jarrett Ahmed Johnson

An astounding p*ss take of an incredibly serious sport and their incredibly serious fanbase, Jeff Jarrett's UFC homage added exceptional and important comedic heft to an otherwise evocative feud with amateur and professional great Kurt Angle.

Having turned heel on Samoa Joe at Bound For Glory 2010, Jarrett adopted a farcical technical approach in order to get into the head of the 'Samoan Submission Machine' in their feud. Coming on top thanks to assistance from his 'Immortal' stablemates rather than any sort of nous in the field, Jarrett was forced to go in even harder on the trope when the previously exiled Olympian returned to take revenge on the irksome 'King Of The Mountain'.

The tension between the pair was palpable following Jarrett's real life marriage to Kurt's ex-wife Karen, and Jarrett used his insulting take on Angle's style as a way further to burrow into his psyche. His 'Mixed Martial Arts retirement' following a cheap bloody end to a supposed 'MMA exhibition' bout between the two only fuelled fires further ahead of their 'Final Battle' as one of Slammiversary 2011's feature attractions.
