1. Shawn Michaels
Basically, you don’t get the nickname “Mr WrestleMania” without being pretty great at WrestleMania. HBK wrestled 17 bouts at the show of shows; none of them are outright bad, some of them are incredible, and some go far beyond that.
Michaels can claim the first WrestleMania ladder match in the iconic, influential X bout with Razor Ramon. He boasts the first and only ‘Mania 60 minute Iron Man match, in which he headlined XII with Bret Hart; it’s a divisive one, but undeniably impressive, not to mention bold in its construction.
He ushered in the Attitude Era putting Stone Cold over in 1996. He retired Ric Flair in 2008. His headliner against John Cena is among the most underrated main events in the PPV’s history. His match with Chris Jericho is arguably the best part of XIX, in contention for the best ‘Mania.
He tore it up with Kurt Angle in a true barnburner that the pair called mostly on the fly.
