'The Viper's most overlooked rivalry was the one he had with Christian, battling it out for the World Heavyweight Championship over the summer of 2011. Their feud was overshadowed by the one between John Cena and CM Punk, but this meant that the WWE Universe would be treated with two classic main events.

Much like Cena and Punk, Orton and Christian had fantastic chemistry and never failed to deliver. After two sporting contests, Christian turned heel after failing to win the title back after his first ever albeit short reign. Christian would fail again at Capitol Punishment due to an officiating error and Orton would drop the belt the following month at Money In Bank due to a disqualification stipulation.

Their No Holds Barred contest at SummerSlam would capitalise on Orton's real life anger management issues and demonstrated his ability to play the face role whilst bringing out his signature, sadistic side seen during 'The Age of Orton'. Christian's whiny heel character would provoke and compliment this, concocting another classic exhibition.

The 'Summer of Punk' was the headline but Orton and Christian stole the show.
