10 Greatest Ring Of Honor Matches Ever

2. Kevin Steen Vs. El Generico (Final Battle 2012)

As tag-team partners, Kevin Steen and El Generico were a real odd couple. As rivals, they provided some of the most heated moments ever seen in ROH. Splitting as a regular tandem at Final Battle 2009, they'd wait a year until facing at Final Battle 2010. That match was good, but a few years later the pair would better it.

In Generico's last match before signing for WWE and being renamed Sami Zayn, he'd do the honours to his real-life close friend. Another 'Ladder War', the match only ended when Steen hit a hellish looking Package Piledriver through a ladder that looked like it killed his peer.

Some ROH fans may feel that the Final Battle 2010 match is better as a standalone clash, but there's so much more history and emotion in the 2012 version. Both these guys had no clue they'd be meeting up in WWE just a few years later, so they noticeably treated this like the last match they may ever have.

It also helped put then-ROH World Champion Steen over huge, getting final say over his one time partner and now arch nemesis.
