10 Greatest Superstars In WWE SummerSlam History

9. The Undertaker

Riding to the ring on the back of a hearse, The Undertaker made his SummerSlam debut in 1992 in a showdown with Kamala. His win via disqualification that night marked the first of 16 appearances at the event, a show he was a major part of for the first-half of its existence.

From 1992 through 2005, he appeared at every single one of the extravaganzas.

Whether he was battling superstars who had no business sharing the ring with him, such as Kama, Giant Gonázlez, or the notorious Underfaker, or squaring off with future Hall of Famers like Edge, Randy Orton, and Kane, he was instrumental in bringing star power and credibility to the event.

In 2015, he returned to SummerSlam for his first match at the event since 2008, battling Brock Lesnar. Hellbent on avenging his first loss at WrestleMania a year earlier, he unleashed furious vengeance on The Beast Incarnate, blasted him with a low blow and applied Hell's Gate for the tapout win.

It appears unlikely The Phenom will ever compete at the event again. If that is the case he has left a multitude of performances, including a journey down the Highway to Hell, that cements his legacy at the pay-per-view.
