10 Greatest Tag-Teams WWE Missed Out On

9. The Pitbulls

Back in the late-1980's, Gary Wolfe and Anthony Durante wrestled collectively on a number of WWF shows. Facing the likes of The Brainbusters and The Hart Foundation, they weren't signed to contracts by the McMahon family. Later, they'd make a name for themselves under the watchful eye of Paul Heyman in the original ECW.

At first, Wolfe and Durante were singles wrestlers in the company. It didn't take long for them to team up however, becoming better known as The Pitbulls. They'd only hold the ECW Tag-Team Titles on one occasion, and even then it was a short 21-day tenure as champions. That doesn't change the fact they were one heck of a team.

More so than actual in-ring prowess, they was just something menacing about The Pitbulls. They would have been perfect for WWE at one point, especially during the 'Attitude Era'. Sadly, the death of Durante in 2003 stopped any possibility of that ever happening.

Heyman definitely accentuated the positives of the team, but it's a shame they never worked more extensively under the WWF/WWE banner.
