10 Greatest Wrestlers From Quebec
3. Rick Martel (Quebec City)
Born Richard Vigneault and last known as “The Model” to WWE fans, Rick Martel is just about the most accomplished modern wrestler to come out of Quebec.
During the 70's, he wrestled all over the world, winning more titles than can efficiently be listed in one paragraph, before joining the WWF and promptly becoming a Tag Team Champion. Twice.
Then he went over to the AWA and became only their third longest-reigning Heavyweight Champion of all time.
Then came the parts most of us actually remember: returning to the WWF and winning the tag team belts with Tito Santana, before pulling a protracted version of Shawn Michaels' turn into a self-centred pretty boy.
Martel accomplished everything except WWE singles gold, and nonetheless established himself as one of their most consistent performers during the boom years.
Also, Martel's later heel work showed off his talent as a pure entertainer, as evidenced by his hilarious encounters with Jake Roberts and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania VII and SummerSlam '92, respectively.
