Four terrific workers given just shy of 20 minutes to run wild before a fully invested crowd - everything was in place to make this one a smash. Doom were the Tag Team Champs here, and were put over as the simpatico team; Flair, with longtime Horseman cohort Arn Anderson, was pitched as a solo guy whose tag bona fides were in question.

On the other hand, he’s Ric Flair - obviously he’s going to be great. He’s absolutely in his pomp here, strutting around the ring, getting dirty when the ref’s back is turned, and overcoming any size deficiency with veteran guile and ruthlessness.

Everyone plays their part perfectly here, though: Anderson the tag specialist who knows every shortcut going; Ron Simmons the pure athlete, a little green but boasting extraordinary power; and Butch Reed the livewire, waiting for the hot tag and hurling himself and his foes around the ring when given the chance.

The crowd are hot for both teams, with Doom great babyfaces and Flair and Anderson too fun to boo. It ends in a double countout, which earns a little heat from the audience - mainly, they just didn’t want it to end.
