Coming into SuperBrawl 1997, the nWo was riding high with Hollywood Hulk Hogan the WCW Heavyweight Champions and Scott Hall and Kevin Nash holding the Tag Team Championships. Things looked to be staying that way as The Outsiders had practically taken out Lex Luger before he teamed with The Giant to challenge for the tag titles.

Despite being a two on one handicap match for much of the contest, it was still an entertaining match. It may be done enough that it loses some of its shine, but it will never not be impressive to see Kevin Nash lift up the future Big Show for a Jackknife Powerbomb. Following the impressive feat, Luger came down to the ring, despite being medically disqualified earlier in the night. Taking out, Eric Bischoff, Syxx, and Scott Hall in quick succession, Lex looked every bit the conquering hero Vince McMahon always hoped he could have been. He then lifted up Kevin Nash into the Torture Rack to force the submission and win the Tag Team Championships.

Far short of a typical tag team match, the four men involved were still able to tell a solid story throughout the match. At just under nine minutes this is not a tag team classic, but it did not need to be given the stacked card before them.
