10 Greatest Wrestling Matches Of Scott Hall's Career
6. Vs. Bret Hart - WWF Royal Rumble 1993
Scott Hall is often looked at as one of, if not the best wrestler never to win a World Championship. He came as close as he ever did against Bret Hart at the 1993 Royal Rumble.
Replacing the recently released Ultimate Warrior, Razor Ramon was thrust into the WWF Championship scene with his new ally, Ric Flair by his side. At the Rumble, The Bad Guy and The Hitman worked well together, combining Razor's power offense with Hart's signature submission attacks. Despite being only a few months into his WWE career, Razor looked the part of a main event level heel as he attacked the ribs of Hart in an attempt to avoid the Sharpshooter. In the end, though, it was all for naught as The Excellence of Execution was able to slap on his patented submission while laying on his back to force the tap out and retain his title.
While The Bad Guy became just a speedbump on The Hitman's road to WrestleMania IX, this was a very good match that could have easily resulted in Razor winning the WWF Championship. It is just a shame this was Scott Hall's only WWF Title match on pay-per-view, and knowing in hindsight he was never able to win the big one.
