It may have ended in heartache for the two in 2013, but the bromance between CM Punk and Paul Heyman is one that is still going strong to this very day. Heyman is credited with going to bat for Punk during his tough early days in World Wrestling Entertainment, but their close relationship may also have been the albatross around the Straight Edge Superstar's neck for a few years.

Still, when they were together they were unashamedly open about their love and admiration for each other. Punk would wax lyrical whilst Heyman stood proudly in the background, WWE Championship held aloft, like the best friend everyone wishes they had.

Of course, we don't want our best friends smashing us in the back with ladders, but still. The two shared the most bromance segment of the modern age too, where Heyman tried to convince Punk that he had nothing to do with Brock Lesnar attacking him. The difficult eye contact, the commitment, the open admittance of love. It was beautiful.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
