10 Greatest WWE Hell In A Cell Matches Ever

1. The Undertaker vs. Mankind

Come on, did you really think anything else would be at the top of this list? For all of the drama, psychology, storytelling and brutality that we recapped so far in this list, is any of it really more shocking than the events that went down at King of the Ring 1998 when the Undertaker and Mankind stepped inside€”or rather, stepped on top€”of Hell in a Cell. Having unconventionally chosen to begin the match atop the ominous structure, Mankind was soon joined by the Undertaker, who after a brief skirmish would launch the Hardcore Legend off of the Cell and through the announce table below. Unbelievably though, Mankind wasn€™t done there. After being stretchered away from the vicinity, he was soon back on his feet and scaling the cage, in one of the gutsiest, or craziest, displays ever witnessed in professional wrestling. From there, disaster struck as Mankind took a bump onto the Cell roof, but ended up breaking through the mesh and crashing to the mat below. The impact left him with a concussion, a tooth lodged in his nose having gone through his lips, and who knows how many permanent internal injuries. And yet he still managed to continue the match, even taking a massive bump onto thumbtacks before his night was over€”though it€™s debatable as to whether or not he even knew what he was doing at this point. It€™s hard to believe this turn of events even now as I write them down, and as such I think that€™s more than enough to make this one worthy of being remembered as the greatest Hell in a Cell match of all time.
