The next entry on the list is a fairly recent encounter that saw the focal point of the newly created Authority faction, Randy Orton, face-off against Daniel Bryan for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The title had been vacated after Bryan was stripped of it the night after Night Of Champions in September. Triple H, the on-screen COO, had accused Bryan of conspiring with referee Scott Armstrong after the ref's bogus "admission" of a fast count and supposedly conspiring with Daniel. The result was an unsuccessful rematch at Battleground, but no winner was declared due to the referee being incapacitated. It all led to Hell In A Cell 2013 which would see sure-footed Shawn Michaels as special guest referee to ensure a victor.

The match was entertaining with several impressive high spots like multiple suicide dives, Daniel Bryan's patented flying headbutt, and a Randy Orton superplex onto a bed of steel chairs. The finish came when, ironically enough, Michaels was taken out when Bryan reversed an RKO attempt and sent Orton flying into Michaels.

When Triple H then entered the cell to check on his fallen friend, Bryan used the opportunity to deliver his Running Knee finisher. Having just come-to and seeing his buddy in peril, Michaels Superkicked his former protégé, leading directly to a Randy Orton championship victory.
