10 Greatest WWE Smackdown Brand PPVs
7. Armageddon 2005
Similar to the previous entry, Armageddon 2005 had to follow two crappy prior editions in 2003 and 2004. We get it - nobody buys pay-per-views in December when there's Christmas shopping to do. It's a dead time of year for wrestling. That having been said, Smackdown's second go at Armageddon overachieved.
The top matches were Undertaker's epic-length Hell in a Cell win over Randy Orton, and Chris Benoit tapping Booker T in their United States title Best of Seven series. Kid Kash winning the Cruiserweight gold from Juventud Guerrera was a pretty good match, even if the Providence crowd was indifferent to it.
The lone lump of coal in the event's stocking was former referee Tim White "committing suicide" in what was designed to be a humorous throwaway segment. Seriously, look it up.
