10 Greatest WWE World Title Storylines In WrestleMania History

9. Ric Flair Claims He "Knew" Miss Elizabeth Before Randy Savage Did (1992)

Sometimes two characters meld perfectly in a storyline. Between shameless womanizer Flair and tightly-wound Savage, the latter of whom still married to the virtuous Miss Elizabeth, it made sense that Flair would try and get Savage's goat by preying on his vulnerability. Thus, Flair began making claims that he'd been intimate with Savage's wife long before Randy and Liz became wrestling's idealized couple. Doctored photos appeared in WWF Magazine to show Flair (inserted over a scrubbed-out Savage) spending time with Elizabeth. Flair cut a promo the week before WrestleMania where he bandied about a scarf that he claimed had belonged to Liz. The kicker was that the WWF Champion promised to reveal illicit photographs of his alleged former flame once he defeated Savage at WrestleMania VIII. Although Flair was fined for blading during the match, given the story, wasn't blood necessary?
