10 Harsh Truths Vince McMahon Needs To Understand About WWE Network

4. Customers Aren't Used To Internet Based TV

When WWE originally announced the WWE Network idea three years ago, the feeling was that it would be a traditional television channel like the hundreds of other channels we can currently watch on TV. Instead, they went with an internet based service that is available on the computer, tablets, phones, video game systems, Apple devices, Roku devices and everything else. This idea that everybody is going to stop watching regular television to load up a device for WWE Network seems silly to a lot of people. Especially older people. There are a lot of WWE viewers in their 40s and older that have grown up watching wrestling. Maybe they have an interest in watching WWE Network to watch some old PPV from 20 years ago, but they're not used to those unconventional methods. Then there are the kids and teens that might be begging mom and dad for the Network, but they're not going to get their wish because a lot of parents are going to want kids to watch less TV. When I was 12 years old I would have loved to have it. However, I'm glad there wasn't anything like that because I loved playing sports and if I had WWE Network that would have cut into that for sure. Maybe in 10 years more people will watch television using other devices, but in 2014 we're still living in a world where the regular way of watching television is the most popular thing and it's not going to go away any time soon.
