3. Johnny B. Badd Vs. Brian Pillman - Fall Brawl 1995
Marc Mero/Johnny B. Badd never reached the levels that management was hoping for from him in his career, but if you watch his match with Brian Pillman at Fall Brawl 95, you can understand what they saw in him.
The two opened the show, and were nearly given a half an hour to put on action that was impossible to top. The two started with a slow build by exchanging a series of lengthy submissions with each other. Pillman, though, grew increasingly frustrated, and started throwing fists which opened up Badd, and turned the crowd firmly in the Little Richard knockoff's favour.
It looked like we weren’t getting any finish, as neither man was able to put the other away before the time limit. But luckily, there had to be a number one contender for the US Title, so they went into sudden death. The sportsmanship Pillman showed at the beginning of the match went out the window, as the Loose Cannon quit playing nice.
After a series of believable pinfall attempts, a double cross body block gave Badd the win. It was a cool finish, in that just like the match itself, it could have gone either way.
The two undercard wrestlers gave it their all in in the gruelling contest, and delivered a performance that made the main event of The Hulkamaniacs vs. The Dungeon of Doom look absolutely archaic.
