10 Hidden Gem Wrestlers That Would Blow AEW Fans’ Minds

The world's oldest wrestling promotion is in crisis.

Ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic and the stifling, company-guzzling politics rife synonymous with lucha libre, CMLL has lost swathes of wrestlers, from former mainstay Shocker and Dralistico (brother of ROH's Rush and Dragon Lee) to Mexico's most talented trio, the Nueva Generación Dinamita.

Sanson, Cuatrero, and Forastero left CMLL after a pay dispute over better-paying indie opportunities than their home promotion would offer. They have since found work with CMLL's biggest rivals, AAA, whose working relationship with AEW has been in place since day one, potentially opening the Forbidden Door to them.

While AEW doesn't have an express need to book trios from outside whenever it finally launches the division, omitting NGD would be a huge lapse of judgment. They are amongst the most effective heel factions in the world in terms of working together as a functioning unit, isolating opponents inside the ring and out and taking advantage with layered offensive sequences. There wouldn't be a single AEW trio with greater cohesion - and they'd mesh perfectly with Death Triangle, Jurassic Express, the Super Elite, and countless others.
