3. Vince McMahon On Late Night With David Letterman
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmhPQhCV9LY On New Year's Eve 1985, David Letterman got his own special on NBC, similar to the ones Conan O'Brien did later where he would celebrate the new year with the Central Time Zone. As a gimmick, the show revolved around who would be the "Late Night Baby," the first baby born at one of the hospitals where the show had stationed a reporter in their respective maternity wards. One of these reporters was Vince McMahon, who was in full "announcer Vince" mode with his tuxedo on at New York Hospital (now New York-Presbyterian Hospital's Weill Cornell Medical Center). "We are experiencing...or, err...in anticipation of a deluge of pregnant women at this moment on their way down to...the waiting room." He got off to a rough start and never quite recovers (including Vince not knowing when he's on the air), but the whole thing is tremendous if just because Letterman is at his peak, Vince as Announcer Vince is great in any setting, and you can never tell just how much Vince understands when Letterman is making fun of him. Well, not until the end, where he turns one of Dave's earlier questions on to Letterman mainstay Larry "Bud" Melman. Five star entertainment.
