10 Hilarious Talk Show Appearances By WWE Stars

2. The Big Bossman, Akeem, And Slick On The Arsenio Hall Show

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRpy1BwKcwU I had heard about this one for years before it showed up on Youtube and was thrilled when I found it. Think about what's going on for a second: The Big Bossman, as a heel, was supposed to be a vaguely racist southern cop. Akeem was One Man Gang, his partner in the Twin Towers who had recently undergone a transformation into "The African Dream" by discovering "his roots." He was supposed to be a parody of "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes as a white guy "pretending to be black." Slick was their manager, a real-life minister doing a stereotypical pimp character. This threesome not only came together in the WWF, but were booked together on The Arsenio Hall Show, the one late-night talk show with a black host and a heavily black (live and televised) audience. At worst, it would be hilariously awkward. At best, it would be awesome. Well, it was AWESOME. Not only was Akeem proclaimed the greatest black wrestler of all time, but they established a running gag where Bossman would stand up to threaten Arsenio when he said something that he and his friends didn't like, peaking with this moment where he flexes his journalistic muscles: "How did Akeem feel...when Hulk Hogan was whippin' his ass? " Arsenio was always the best talk show host at interacting with wrestlers, but this is probably his funniest performance in one of those appearances.
