10 Historic 2002 Raw & SmackDown Moments To Check Out On WWE Network

9. Jeff Hardy Takes The Undertaker To His Limits

By 2002, The Hardy Boyz were starting to go their separate ways. Jeff Hardy was drafted to Raw, where he seemed surely poised to become a mid-card singles star. On the other side, Matt Hardy was relegated to competing largely on Sunday Night Heat, before being moved over onto the Smackdown roster. That Summer, Jeff would have a match which helped put him on the map as a singles wrestler. On the July 1st episode of the show, Jeff pieced together an awesome Ladder Match against The Undertaker on Raw. Jim Ross did his best to put Hardy over in a big way with his commentary, and the same could be said for 'Taker's efforts inside the ring. The match was for the WWE Undisputed Title, and was one of the most thrilling of the entire year, both on TV and Pay-Per-View. The bout was the perfect example of a match making both winner and loser look fantastic. Even though he didn't leave with his hand raised, Jeff looked like a true star. Hardy's career would stutter the following year, but this was arguably the moment when WWE management realised he had serious potential on his own.
