As well as being championship-winning partners and real-life best buds, Edge and Christian have also been fierce rivals to each other over the years.

Their feud over the Intercontinental Championship (and the love of Grandma Edna) was one of the best parts of the Invasion. They would go on to reignite their beef in AEW, resulting in a series of TNT Championship swaps.

In terms of their WWE careers, the pair first met prior to an episode of Shotgun in November 1997. A young Edge, then going by his real name of Adam Copeland, had been working freelance for WWE for a while. This was just his second match under contract. As for Christian, who still had his "Cage" surname at the time, he wouldn't get signed for almost another year.

Copeland won this brawl, but wouldn't formally debut until the following Summer. The future tag team champions have been linked at almost every stage of their career, including before either of them had even appeared on WWE television.
