10 Holy Grail WWE Dark Matches You Wish You Could've Seen
4. Randy Savage vs Shawn Michaels - WWF TV 06/07/1993
Back when he was still a Rocker, Shawn Michaels fought WWE Champion Randy Savage in a series of matches in the United Kingdom. This was part of the company's 1992 tour of the country that eventually resulted in the company returning for the legendary SummerSlam event at Wembley Stadium.
Fast forward a year, and now it was the Macho Man chasing the Boy Toy.
In the twelve months since he last faced Savage, Michaels had dropped Marty Jannetty and gained both a bodyguard in Diesel and the Intercontinental Championship. Prior to the July 6th 1993 taping of an episode of WWF TV, the two future Hall of Famers went to war with the workhorse belt up for grabs.
HBK had come a long way since breaking out as a singles star, but a win over a legend like Savage would be a major boost to his credibility. That's exactly what he got, albeit via DQ. This pair of elbow-dropping, flamboyant superstars never crossed paths on TV ever again, but, in another timeline, they would have been absolutely perfect opponents.
Sadly, that timeline doesn't exist, but that's what video games are for.
