10 Horrendous Promos Awesome Wrestlers Want You To Forget

2. Edge Is Involved In A Different Sort Of Bloodbath

Edge, once a riot of a heel character, is altogether too intense these days.

He has abandoned far too much of what got him over in the first place. Once a manic, witty insult machine, upon his 2020 return, not so much telling the story of his painstaking comeback as screaming it in your face, he lost something. There was no joy to his work. After the Royal Rumble, it didn't feel like a welcome miracle.

"I can't wait for Edge to return, scream the word "grit" at the top of his voice and work spots that bring to mind the suicide of a double-murderer," absolutely nobody said. Where's the guy who once ripped Ric Flair a new ar*ehole in one of the best impersonation angles ever?

If someone was to impersonate Edge now, they'd need only act like Fun Bobby off friends.

Nonetheless, Edge was awesome, and for a very long time, but it took him a while to get over. As part of the Brood, while he didn't literally suck as much as his vampire buddy Gangrel - lovely chap, pitiable promo - he was horrendous.

Edge banged on about some sh*te or other, visibly hating his life, saying things like "For those who believe will follow, and for those who don't will merely exist".

What?

So those who don't go along with whatever the f*ck they were talking about would just...go unharmed?

Some heels they were, Jesus.
