Vince McMahon as a heavy non-wrestling presence on television in early 2022 was hard to justify. Vince McMahon working matches in-ring at WrestleMania? Certainly not. Coming out to address the fans or make matches was one thing, but getting in there on the biggest weekender of the year was another.

Yikes.

McMahon worked Pat McAfee in a thrown-together match during 'Mania 38's second night. McAfee had already beaten Austin Theory, which was enough of a sideshow for the event, but then the loudmouth announcer goaded Vince into an impromptu bout too. Fans popped at first, then the bell rang.

Nobody was expecting Bryan Danielson or AJ Styles out there, but McMahon couldn't even be a decent version of himself. Putting this on the lineup at WrestleMania, unadvertised add-on or not, was a ridiculous decision from someone who was pathetically out of touch.
