2. AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Brodie Lee

This match cannot close the show.

The idea that the World Championship should always headline is flawed. It's fine if the relevant programme is the most heated and over thing in the company - and it should be the most heated and over thing in the company - but this isn't the case at the moment. Jon Moxley vs. Brodie Lee isn't hitting. AEW hasn't done enough to overcome the concerns surrounding Lee being thrust straight into the main event scene, with the angles tame and promos fine, but hardly on fire.

Moxley and Lee's saving grace is that it should be a great match. Brodie is working with a chip on his shoulder right now and has looked good in rust-shaking squash matches, while Moxley may feel like he has a point to prove after his misfiring match with Jake Hager. The storytelling has been limp, sure, but the talent has never been in question.

For now, a Brodie victory would be all kinds of wrong. The worm still hasn't fully turned on the Dark Order for that to work at the moment. Besides, Mox's run is only a couple of months deep...

Winner: Jon Moxley.
