10 HUGE AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

8. Zack Sabre Jr. Vs. An Opponent Of Bryan Danielson’s Choosing

Forbidden Door
All Elite Wrestling

Ahead of Bryan Danielson's disappointing injury announcement on the go-home edition of Dynamite, this was set to be the match that best illustrated what most people wanted from Forbidden Door.

A dream match that served as a fabulous articulation of why the coming together of two promotions can be so intoxicating, both men simply believed themselves to be the best technical wrestlers on the planet and had years of evidence between the ropes to prove it. Zero belts and yet the stakes would have been as high as anything else on the card.

That'll sadly now have to go on ice for if this becomes an annual event, and instead AEW have tried to sweeten the pot with the element of surprise. It's not served them particularly well lately, but in light of what's been lost it's hard to imagine this being a letdown. Or, to that end, this not being Cesaro/Claudio Castagnoli.

With him headed to Wednesday's Blood & Guts, he has to emerge victorious too.

Winner - Claudio Castagnoli
