10 HUGE AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

2. Jon Moxley Vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

Forbidden Door
All Elite Wrestling

There’s a narrow window between this article going out and the show going live, but if you have the time to listen to Jon Moxley’s latest interview with wife Renée Paquette on The Sessions, now’s the time.

As well as addressing the remarkable last year of his personal and professional life, Moxley speaks almost sweetly about how Hiroshi Tanahashi is the man he simply had to wrestle. Inspired by his 2012 classic with Minoru Suzuki and enchanted like the rest of us ever since, it feels as though this show almost only exists because Mox really, really needed this match.

It is, subsequently, the easiest match to predict in terms of result, quality and prestige. But these aren’t negatives.

Moxley will win, Moxley and Tanahashi will make it look as though this fight has to happen to secure the very safety of our universe. Then, the Interim AEW Championship will, for a briefly euphoric moment, have its importance elevated before reality bites and an infamous WWE moment is replicated as the first AEW x NJPW show goes off the air…

Winner - Jon Moxley
