10 HUGE AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

1. CM Punk Returns

Forbidden Door
AEW

Forbidden Door, as of just last month, was supposed to CM Punk's night.

Mere weeks removed from defeating Hangman Page to become AEW World Heavyweight Champion, Punk was set to walk the aisle in the United Center just short of 12 months on from when he made his emotional return to wrestling in the same building.

It was supposed to be CM Punk's night.

It couldn't exist without Jon Moxley.

Moxley's continuing insistence on working for NJPW even during a period where the organisation were at odds with AEW kept this - and his dream to fight Hiroshi Tanahashi - alive, and the moment he wins his dream match and holds his old belt aloft should scan as vindication. He won't be afforded any of it. Punk will get his pop and his moment and go belt-to-belt with the man who'll replace him during the remainder of his convalescence.

Assuming Punk's fit, this'll surely be a headline attraction at All Out. Should that be in the 'Windy City', this will be the perfect way to sell the first few tickets.
