When Hulk Hogan joined WCW in 1994, Eric Bischoff hired a lot of former WWF talent either to have familiar faces on WCW TV or as a favour to Hulk Hogan. When you watch any episode of WCW television in late 1994, you'll see The Nasty Boys, Jim Duggan, The Honky Tonk Man, Earthquake and others. It became a situation where anyone who was no longer with WWE got signed, whether it was a good idea or not. When Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan joined TNA in 2010, there were a couple of bizarre hiring choices, such as Val Venis and The Nasty Boys. These two acts hadn't been seen on mainstream TV in years but, because they'd been in the WWE/were mates with Hogan, they were signed and temporarily pushed. TNA have always had the philosophy that if someone was in WWE then they should automatically hire them. Some of the signings are good, like Matt Morgan or Bobby Lashley. Others, such as Orlando Jordan and Camacho, have been mind-boggling. One of the big mistakes that WCW made was not creating their own stars and allowing them to shine, a mistake that sadly TNA has made time and time again.
