This hasn't been ideal.

At TakeOver: WarGames, Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole flew from the top of a steel cage through the a table in one of the rings below. It was an inch-perfect level of violent escalation to conclude the match and a reminder to the Champion that 'Daddy' was indeed home. If only a fun uncle didn't arrive too.

Between then and now, Keith Lee made himself a potential megastar, Velveteen Dream returned to gobble up the pops he'd lost and the Women's Division at large took up its place as the most vital element of the show. The feud and Ciampas story was lost in the shuffle, much like this match threatens to on a card with so much going for it. 'Goldie', for now at least, will stay some way removed from its former owner.

What follows for Ciampa is unclear, but who could possibly keep the leader of the Undisputed Era busy between now and WrestleMania?

Could Killer Kross or Timothy Thatcher be next on the list for Adam Cole in yet another indie darlings duel that NXT can inflate beyond wildest dream expectations on the TakeOver stage?

Winner - Adam Cole
