If Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan had stood face-to-face in a wrestling ring around the mid-to-late '90s we would have no doubt gotten a truly iconic clash, jam packed full of theatrics and memorable exchanges between two of the biggest names in sports entertainment history.

Sadly, when the pair did eventually share the ring in a one-on-one contest at SummerSlam 2005, Michaels was more interested in sending a message to the ever-politicking Hogan than trying to put on a clinic.

What followed was some hilarious over-selling on HBK's part.

Hogan was also coming to the end of his run as a competent in-ring performer and this infamous match (dogged by Hogan's refusal to do the job for Michaels further down the line) proved to be one of the last real appearances for the 'Hulkster' that didn't make you wince at the star in discomfort - for a multitude of reasons.

The match itself wasn't completely awful and Hogan's 'hulking up' comeback was just as riveting as ever.

However, you can't help but wonder how loud the noise would have been had the pair locked up a decade earlier, when Hogan was ruling the roost in full 'Hollywood' mode and HBK was making the boyhood dream come true.
