As The Undertaker's iconic 'streak' came to an end, the silence was well and truly deafening.

At 21-0 over a 23-year period, it seemed as if The Phenom's undefeated WrestleMania streak was destined to last forever. Wrestling fans wanted it to last forever. Yet, as is often the case, WWE had different plans.

Those different plans saw 'Taker's streak brought to a crashing halt by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX.

What was so great about The Deadman's streak, was that so many of his WrestleMania bouts had some phenomenal false-finishes based around getting fans to buy in that the streak was finally ending. But when Paul Heyman's Beast hit The Undertaker with a third F-5, there was the knowing realisation that this really was it for the greatest streak in professional wrestling history.

Like those watching across the world, New Orleans' Mercedes-Benz Superdome was left in stunned silence as referee Chad Patton counted the 1, 2, 3. And to WWE's credit, they embraced the shock and silence of the in-attendance audience by holding off on playing Lesnar's music straight away. Instead, WWE allowed the reality of the situation to sink in and emphasised just how big of a moment this was for the wrestling business.
