With Triple H appearing on the latest episode of Cody Rhodes' What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, the WWE COO has given his thoughts on Cody famously smashing a Game-esque throne during the American Nightmare's time in AEW.

That throne smash took place on AEW's first-ever PPV, Double or Nothing 2019 - where Cody faced his brother Dustin - and featured Rhodes taking a sledgehammer to a throne in what many took to be a shot at Triple H. After all, the sledgehammer was the weapon of choice for the King of Kings for years, he'd used a throne for his entrance at times, and Cody's throne had imagery on it that was very much on brand for Triple H.

Despite this apparent shot, Triple H had no problem with any of this.

As the Cerebral Assassin explained (via SI):

"I remember when people brought it to me and were showing to me, and I was, like, 'F**k yeah, all right, good for him.'" That's the kind of s**t you do. You're trying to make a name for yourself, you're trying to get out there, you're trying to do some cool s**t, and trying to do some different stuff."

Triple H added that, if he thought there were any problems between him and Cody, he'd have reached out to the then-AEW EVP.

"If I would have thought there was malice in it, and maybe, indirectly, there was some at the time, I don't know, but if I would have thought there was any serious malice in it, I would have called you and said, 'Hey, dude, are we okay?', because I was so close to your dad, but then I always felt a connection to you."

By all accounts, Triple H was happy to see Cody Rhodes making waves and putting himself out there, as the nowadays three-time WWE Champion continued to make his mark outside of WWE.
