10 Huge WWE & AEW Matches Still To Come In 2020
7. MJF Vs. Wardlow
Since attacking Cody on the 13 November 2019 edition of AEW Dynamite, Wardlow has always had MJF's back, becoming his personal bodyguard.
With the big man by his side, Maxwell Jacob Friedman went undefeated in singles action, never being pinned or submitted including in tag team bouts, up until his AEW World Championship match against Jon Moxley at All Out.
In the aftermath, MJF didn't blame Moxley for illegally using his Paradigm Shift finisher, as that is what he expected, but rather pointed the finger at his whole campaign team - including Wardlow. With the referee distracted, the plan was for Wardlow to throw the Dynamite Diamond Ring to his employer during the title match's conclusion. However, the pass was misjudged and Moxley capitalised.
Wardlow didn't take MJF's accusations and insults too kindly. It was only until Friedman reminded him that he was the one writing his paychecks, not Tony Khan, that he begrudgingly backed off.
A Triple H and Batista-esque circa-2003 to 2004 storyline is emerging. Whether Wardlow just snaps and/or Khan offers him a contract, we will undoubtedly see the figurative thumbs-down moment, this time to MJF. Give the "undefeated, Undisputed and Uncrowned' one nowhere to hide, and pit them against each other inside a steel cage.
