9. First Daniel Bryan, Then Brie Bella (2018)

After being plagued with concussion issues and having to emotionally retire on Raw in 2014, Daniel Bryan shockingly got medically cleared and returned to the ring at WrestleMania 34. In the time he spent away from competing he was made SmackDown General Manager and co-hosted Talking Smack. But being so close to the craft he gave his whole adult life fuelled Bryan to look for any way he could to get back to wrestling in the ring.

After passing a series of rigid medical tests Bryan got the all clear and was on a collision course with The Miz, who he had a built-in organic feud with after their Talking Smack back and forth and Miz taunting Bryan and audiences by stealing Bryan’s moveset. At SummerSlam The Miz scored a win over Bryan after Maryse interfered and snuck him a pair of brass knuckles.

This would all lead to Brie Bella returning to WWE for a showdown between the real life couples. Brie hadn’t been featured as a full-time performer on WWE TV since 2016 when she left to start a family with Bryan.

Bryan and Brie took on Miz and Maryse in an entertaining mixed tag match at the Hell in a Cell PPV, with fans cheering away as Bryan and Brie delivered duelling ‘YES’ kicks to the Mizanins.
