It’s a low key shout, but is Sean Waltman the most important performer from Raw’s formative years?

His upset over Razor Ramon deservedly tops Manhattan Center moment charts, a legendary match with Bret Hart is arguably Raw’s best EVER, whilst his reemergence as X-Pac following WrestleMania XIV brought smoke to the microphone and fire to the ring. He was a big part of the product crushing Raw too as an early New World Order face sacked only to send a message to his friends Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

His placement in the Monday Night Wars’ two biggest groups has ironically left him cruelly out in the cold in the promotion of the show. DX and the nWo are featured heavily without mentioning him by name despite Syxx/X-Pac anchoring both between the ropes.

A reward for his work, Waltman should get to enjoy the spoils of war by donning the colours of both for one night only. Then, whilst inside the Manhattan Center alongside Scott Hall reminiscing on one of their most famous nights together, the Clique founding father should join his comrades in the WWE Hall Of Fame. A surprise announcement in front of a fiercely loyal crowd and his best friends would pay fitting tribute to a man whose contributions are too often overlooked.
