10 HUGE WWE SummerSlam 2020 Predictions You Need To Know

You'll Never See These Coming.

WWE's latest favourite in-house gimmick? Telling us they're being unpredictable without actually showing it.

Every show in the ongoing global b*stard of a year that is 2020 has a tagline, but SummerSlam's at least seemed loosely tied to the long-established main event between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. The former's finisher famously comes "outta nowhere", while McIntyre's victories over Bobby Lashley and Dolph Ziggler have been via the sudden shock of his wicked Claymore kick.

"You'll Never See It Coming", they told us, right as an unpredictable-to-a-fault edition of Raw spat out a new hostile takeover storyline that appears designed to intentionally mock real life protest groups. "You'll Never See It Coming", they yelled, as Shane McMahon revealed an underground fight club taking place from within the bowels of the Performance Center. "You'll Never See It Coming", they hollered, as the product was as familiar as it was fundamentally dreadful.

And yet, as is so often the case with these shows, a card has emerged that actually looks okay. There's the potential (if not the promise) of at least three in-ring bangers, one great blood feud with quality stakes, and one midcard curio that's wholly unpredictable in all the good ways.

Might SummerSlam 2020 actually be the biggest party of the summer after all, and one you wish you could have attended? You'd never see that coming...

Absolutely not a complaint, but SummerSlam's card is currently looking a little lean for something the company are very keen to present as a Big Four show.

The first pay-per-view (and only second show overall) to take place in the Thunderdome will surely go longer than the tight and timely three hour events that have made up WWE's pay-per-view schedule in the global b*stard era, and there are lots of midcard matches bubbling under if the company can't be a*sed to wait another week.

Big E's first month as a singles star hasn't brought him to SummerSlam, yet. Shorty G's recent turn has been an unmitigated disaster but the little blighter sure can work. Lacey Evans and Naomi could half-finish what they've half started. AJ Styles is set to defend to the Intercontinental Championship on television instead of a pay-per-view, but there's worse wrestlers than 'The Phenomenal One' should they need somebody for the Kickoff. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are barred from helping MVP, but free to have a drab tag team match. The 24/7 Title is always at large, and so are The Group Known As Retribution. It's been days since The Iiconics and The Riott Squad interacted.

Ninjas too. And Where's Vink?

This entry is not a beg for any of this, just a reality check for those that might need it. What appears as the current card on Thursday/Friday surely won't be it's final form by Saturday Sunday. It's the Biggest Party Of The Summer after all.
