Cedric Alexander has won all bar one of his televised matches in 2018, holding on to the Cruiserweight Championship since he emerged victorious from a sigle elimination tournament to claim the vacant prize at WrestleMania. But if tree flips in the woods and nobody’s bothered to watch it, does it even pop the boys?

Under Alexander’s stewardship, 205 Live hasn’t undergone a transformation as grand as its own General Manager did when he started hanging out with the Authors Of Pain, but Buddy Murphy’s electric efforts have been creating reasons to tune into the flagging vehicle for much of 2018.

In truth, he perhaps should have been the one to take the title at WrestleMania in the first place, but WWE have a chance to right the wrong when the former NXT Tag Team Champion steps out in front of 60,000 fellow Australians o Saturday Night.

The company have a habit of reducing nice things to comedic cul-de-sacs or flat-out removing them altogether. Not booking Murphy to take his rightful place atop the pile here, of all places, would be one of the more shameful abuses of a star-making opportunity this year.
