10 HUGE WWE WrestleMania Backlash Predictions You Need To Know

8. Bianca Belair (c) Vs. Bayley

How good is "getting the basics right" when in this case the outcome is so...basic?

Bayley is of course the perfect first opponent for Bianca Belair because she's been frozen out of the title picture long enough, is surely the best all-rounder on the whole roster and offers 'The EST' a significant first major win as SmackDown Women's Champion.

But she's also a convenient diversion from a major problem on the blue brand - there's nobody else remotely ready.

Carmella showed awesome fire in her feud with Sasha Banks and would be a great TV opponent for any titleholder, but only now are they thinking about how to help her rebound from losses in December and January. Nia Jax has fourteen different angles but all of them are tag feuds and she remains a flight risk in big singles contests. The Riott Squad are cooked, Reckoning is AWOL and Sonya Deville seems more concerned with taking Adam Pearce's job that gaining some gold.

In other words, don't expect this to be the end even though Belair picks up a version of a victory in what could be the best match of the night. WWE needs another month (at least) to get its sh*t together in time for something new.

Winner - Bianca Belair
