10 Hyped Wrestling Rematches That Sucked

9. Triple H Vs. Steve Austin

Bray Wyatt Braun Strowman Extreme Rules Swamp
WWE Network

Where: WWF Survivor Series 2000

Why It Sucked: If you've never had the pleasure, then go back to No Mercy 1999 (the US one) to watch Triple H and Steve Austin beat the sh*te out of one another in an excellent 'No Holds Barred' match. Then, to compare, flick forward to Survivor Series 2000 to see both guys go way too far.

Attempted homicide, basically.

Austin and Trips brawled around in standard fashion before the night's big set piece, and (again) there was almost something comedic about the mix of wide shots and Hunter's horrified face as 'Stone Cold' contemplated murder. That wasn't intentional, and it's why this was cringe city.

Fans mentally moved on from the 'whodunit' angle on the prior year's Survivors before the company. Rikishi's reveal as a hired gun and Triple H swooping in to out himself as the mastermind certainly muddied the waters. They'd set this right come No Way Out 2001's 'Three Stages Of Hell'.
